Blackfish - Trailer

Beyond the lies, beneath the deception, the truth will surface.

Magnolia Pictures has debuted the trailer for the chilling Sundance documentary Blackfish, directed Gabriela Cowperthwaite, about orcas in captivity.

Holy shit.

OKAY, WE NEED TO REBLOG THE FUCK OUT OF THIS. EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT AN ANIMAL PERSON, YOUR FOLLOWERS NEED TO SEE THIS. ESPECIALLY DURING THE HEIGHT OF VACATION SEASON. DO NOT SUPPORT SEA PARKS WITH CAPTIVE WHALES. IT’S NOT ENVIRONMENTAL PROPAGANDA (I can’t believe I even used those words) IT’S A REAL ISSUE AND IT’S NOT A MATTER OF PROOF, IT’S A MATTER OF COVERING IT UP AND IGNORING IT!

its not even about being an animal person, ITS ABOUT BEING A FUCKING HUMAN WITH SOME BASIC RESPECT FOR ALL LIVING THINGS

This is a really important thing to share, so let me TYPE IN ALL CAPS TO FURTHER EMPHASIZE ITS IMPORTANCE, OK?

ME BEING A SARCASTIC ASSHOLE ASIDE, THE INCREDIBLY SMALL ROLE OF SEA PARKS AS AN EDUCATIONAL VESSEL ABOUT SEA LIFE IS VASTLY OVERSHADOWED BY ITS ENTERTAINMENT-AT-ANY-COST OBJECTIVE AND THAT AIN’T COOL BRO.

On my summer movie list.

I am forever grateful that a documentary has been filmed to inform the public about the harsh, revolting conditions that these majestic creatures are put through. I would like to remind everyone and anyone whose heart mourns for these whales that you also know that zoos are no different. An enclosure is a cage is a prison. How can anyone find it entertaining or educational watching animals live out their life’s in a completely artificial surrounding?

“I heard police or ambulancemen, standing in our house, say, “She must have provoked him,” or, “Mrs Stewart, it takes two to make a fight.” They had no idea. The truth is my mother did nothing to deserve the violence she endured. She did not provoke my father, and even if she had, violence is an unacceptable way of dealing with conflict. Violence is a choice a man makes and he alone is responsible for it.”

He’s Paul McCartney, of course he is

The classic rock fandom. The only fandom to wonder if a 71 year old man is having sex on his birthday.
